Cryptograms are puzzles where letters are encrypted by being replaced with something else. The goal is to decipher the code for the letters to reveal the original text.

If you're new to cryptograms, start with easy puzzles. With practice, your problem-solving skills will improve, and your brain will process information faster.

To complete the puzzle, you must enter the exact quote. A sensible sentence may not be accepted if it's not the exact quote.

If you're stuck and think your solution is correct, you might be missing a letter. Search for the actual quote online to compare with your answer. If you still believe there's an issue with the quote, contact us, and we'll resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Techniques#

Various techniques can be used to solve a cryptogram puzzle, including brute-force, pattern-finding, and word-finding methods.

  • Brute-force: Try every letter of the alphabet to see which substitution creates a readable phrase.

  • Pattern-finding: Determine the letter pattern by attempting to make sense of the phrase or looking for repeated letters in the encrypted text.

  • Word-finding: Look for common English words in the encrypted phrase. Start with short, common words like I, A, IF, OF, TO, BY, AND, etc.
